2. Record the institution, status, projected date, and parole-related fields exactly as shown.
3. Ask WVDCR for the terminal movement, actual release date and time, release method, and destination.
4. If parole appears, compare the West Virginia Parole Board decision with WVDCR’s physical release record.
5. If another custodian received the person, verify custody with that agency instead of calling the transfer a community release.

Online OIS data can change quickly and may not reflect the true current location, release date, or status. A no-match result is not proof of release. Spelling, aliases, a transfer, sealing, delayed updates, and system limits can all produce an empty result.

Denmar Release Date Records

WVDCR calls the underlying sentence calculation the minimum discharge or final release date. A public result may label it “Projected Release Date.” That date is a forecast based on the sentence, jail credit, good time, and other authorized credits. It is not the same as a parole eligibility date, which marks when the Parole Board may consider release. Neither is proof that the person walked out.

Policy Directive 151.07 requires a time sheet that aggregates consecutive terms and reflects the overall minimum discharge or final release date. It must be revised when forfeited, restored, or extra good time changes the calculation. Denmar Facility History

Denmar’s local history helps explain why its name can be confusing. The site opened as a hospital in 1919 and now operates as a medium-security prison and jail. Its official page describes an approximate population of 232 adult men, while the FY2025 report lists a rated population of 240. These are different measures and should not be treated as release totals.

The placement criterion makes parole and sentence calculations especially relevant at Denmar. Still, it provides no person-specific answer. Verify a named person through OIS, WVDCR movement records, and the applicable parole or court record.

Denmar Release Geography

Pocahontas County’s custody map runs against common assumptions. Denmar sits inside the county, yet many people confined there have no Pocahontas County prosecution. Meanwhile, people arrested on Pocahontas County charges often enter Tygart Valley Regional Jail in Randolph County. Search a Denmar resident by identity in the state prison system. Search a Pocahontas County case through the correct court.
